Cozy & Welcoming Entryway Makeover Reveal – One Room Challenge Week 8!

entryway makeover reveal

This entryway makeover has redefined my style in the best way! Over the past 8 weeks, we have transformed our entryway from bland and cold to the warm, welcoming and functional space we craved. I didn’t get to do everything I had planned (traveling 5 out of the 8 weeks, plus jury duty and some illness will do that to ya!), however, I’m so happy with how it turned out! It’s amazing what a change has happened with some fairly simple changes. Read on for the full before and after of our entryway makeover!

One Room Challenge Entryway Makeover Updates:

First of all, thank you to Sashco for partnering me on my entryway project! They were wonderful to work with and provided me with their eXact color caulk to use for the box moulding installation in our entryway.

If you’ve missed my previous updates, you can find them here:

Entryway Before:

Here’s a reminder of what our entryway looked like when we started. It wasn’t terrible, but I never liked that door and the space felt almost sterile. I craved warmth and wanted to create a more cozy and inviting space to welcome our guests (and house my plants!).

Entryway After:

The entryway is the first glimpse guests have into your home, but in ours, it’s also open to our living room and one of the spaces we look at and walk through often. That made this space especially important in defining the style of our entire home. I’ll admit, convincing myself to paint the entire entryway sage green took some convincing. But my goodness am I glad I did! This space feels so much more warm, inviting, and fun!

The box moulding added so much texture to this space and really amped up the coziness! This was the 5th rug I tried, but it is just the right fit for this space and will look even better once I complete the floors (one day!).

This mirror was a Goodwill find. I loved the fun touch it added with the scalloped bottom. This pot for my orchid was a lavender color, so I painted it a cherry red to put the unexpected red theory to the test. I absolutely love the pop of red against the green!

This photo is the ultimate “don’t look too closely” photo. My re-finishing of this bench went a little awry and will have to be fixed. (Basically, the previous stain was light and when I sanded it, I couldn’t tell that there were areas that I hadn’t fully sanded down, so it’s splotchy). I also had a mishap with the drywall anchors for these hooks, so they are carefully balanced in there for these photos. Just some real life for y’all to enjoy!

One of my favorite things about this paint color is how it changes with the lighting. Every shade it turns is beautiful in a different way! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention my bronze door handle! Once I discovered that, I chose to carry other bronze accents into the space with the wall hooks and warm wood tones.
